For those of you who do not know who Michael Lau is, he is a very popular figure designer in Hong Kong. He currently designs a
few figure lines for his own company, Crazy Smiles as well as exclusive figures for hip-hop bands in Hong Kong (i.e. Lazy Muthafuckas).
His latest creation is the "Crazy Children" figure line which depicts "hip-hop" children 6" figures that are really unique and are on the
cutting edge. These figures usually come with a few inter-changeable accessories like sneakers and caps.
Baby Got Back!
I recently picked up the first of the Crazy Children, Fatback. Fatback is approximately 5 1/2" in height and is completely made of vinyl.
He comes with 2 pairs of shoes, two caps, a sticker, and a bonus gift. This little guy even has 5 points of articulation, but the purpose of
these figures are mainly for display purposes since they cost roughly $100 each. If you are thinking about picking one up for yourself,
it's a pretty cool figure and there are only 1000 pcs. produced, giving it collectible value. On top of this they can only be found in the
Asian markets and through online retailers.
As for detail and production quality, I have to say that the figure was nicely produced and their attention to detail and painting has
high quality control. Feel free to take a look at the pictures below, sorry they are not the greatest but I wasn't willing to break open the packaging.
